Roman Holiday was Audrey Hepburn's first starring role, and a role which earned her an oscar. A charming story that revolves around a princess who longs to experience life, the movie is filled with plenty endearing moments. Although thought out most of the movie Audrey is seen in a simpler more conservative ensemble, its her personality and elegant looks that steal the show.
Costumes were designed by Edith Head, and although filming went on smoothly in Roman Holiday, Edith and Hepburn were not always friends. Once Audrey found Givenchy she demanded he receive billing something which Edith fiercely fought against. Of course Roman Holiday was shot before Audrey become Givenchy's muse and good friend.
