The exhibit will take place from June 21 til September 15. Curated by The Design Museum London in conjunction with Christian Louboutin, this exhibition presents iconic French shoe designer Christian Louboutin, celebrating a career that has pushed the boundaries of high fashion shoe design. This exhibition celebrates Louboutin’s twenty years of designs and inspiration, revealing the artistry and theatricality of his shoe design from stilettos to lace-up boots, studded sneakers and bejeweled pumps. It is a magical journey of style, glamour, power, femininity and elegance. The exhibit takes place in Toronto, and you can purcashe tickets here.

"The moment I realized things were changing a bit was when I was in California, I was in L.A., and I was taking the plane back. I had to bring back some shoes of mine, and so I had this big Louboutin bag and like, ten women stopped me to say, 'Wow! You're so lucky!' Then, I kept the bag with me as hand luggage, and when I put it on the x-ray, the girl looking at the x-ray said, 'Oh my god! This is Louboutin!' …and then they took my passport. That was really a moment where I said that's so funny, because the name really speaks to a lot of people. That was really the first time when I noticed a difference, I never had that type of attention. That was probably six or seven years ago."

"Follow who you are are, and really take advantage of what you see, what you hear, who you meet, to do your own journey. People are looking for nice design, beautiful design, but also to understand, probably, someone. You get emotional about people, often, some designers, but it's only when designers are much less good, but still true to themselves. Stick to the side of imagination, don't think technique. If you're a bad technician, it doesn't matter. You will always be able to find a good technician. Be at the service of your own imagination."

"Believe in who you are, and do what you love. Do not try to copycat people. You can be influenced by people, but do not do a photocopy of someone else's work. There is no limit to imagination, you just have to let it grow. That's the important thing—that's what people see at the end of the day, when you're true to yourself. If you're just a big copy, you can please [when it comes to] marketing and money and blah blah blah, but you can't stay for a long time when you're not being dictated by what you love deeply."
