Juice Detox Reflections Day 1

Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably know that juicing is the new it thing to do in the healthy world. Everyones doing it from Blake Lively to Kim Cattrall to Edward Norton the list goes on.  Unlike most fast or detox you are allowed to eat and drink, however what you're eating and drinking is only fruits and veggies that are 100 % raw, and maybe into a juice of course. You will lose weight whilst on it but that not its main benefit. Juicing give your body a pleather of nutrients that most people don't get from food on a daily level, it a way to reboot, and recharge your body and your cells. For my experience and recipes expand for more information below.
Theres a lot of reason to do juicing however there was just one reason i was willing to forgo food for seven days, pain. For the past two weeks I've been to doctors of all sorts from nutritionist to gastros to allergists. To try and figure out why i get sharp pains in my stomach whenever i eat ANYTHING. It doesn't matter if its ice cream, toast, an apple or fish, the minute that food hits my stomach I am in a great pain. At all my appointment no one could find anything wrong with me. No matter how happy I was to hear I wasn't ill, that didn't make that the pain go away. One of them mentioned I look into juice detoxes, as that had helped a few patients suffering from a myriad of illness. So i thought what the heck, I've done crazier things, think lemonade cleanse circa my senior year in high school. So i went out bought myself my juicer and went to Whole Foods to pick up my produce.

Now that the first day is done, i can honestly say its not that bad. I thought the juices were gonna taste foul and awful but they are surprisingly good.  Don't get me wrong its not like drinking a sugary juice you find in the supermarket, but its better than a tequila shot. Lets get down to the obvious, yes you will be tired and hungry, and no you will not starve. Probably the biggest question, and why most people will do this detox, is will i lose weight? Yes i would say it would be pretty hard not lose weight while doing this, you are only eating the healthiest things, I weighed myself this morning and I've lost at least 2 pounds in one day.

In the morning i was fine, the juices filled me up well, it wasn't until 8 pm that i started to really feel hungry. I made my last and final juice and decided to watch a movie. I slept for a good 11 hours and woke up refreshed and felling good. I would usually go to kickboxing today and tomorrow however I'm gonna wait until day three, so my body has a chance to adjust. I have been doing small workouts, like easy bike riding yesterday and some light yoga in the morning. Overall i feel great, my stomach pains are gone and thats the best motivation to keep me going for another 6 days.
