Details and Backstage Makeup @ Chanel Haute Couture 2013

From Feathers to sequences nothing was lacking from the ethereal Chanel Haute Couture Fashion Show in Paris.

Created by Peter Philips, Chanel's global creative director for make-up, mesh lashes were applied to the lash line, edges blurred with graphite pigment, to create the appearance of blown-out black shadow for a deep, dark, eerie eye. The exaggerated mesh cut outs seemed smeared and smudged in effect for a sinister day-after-the-story-before smoky eye.

The oversized and exaggerated up do by international hair stylist Sam McKnight came with organised chaos, each and every style and shape individually created to flatter a model's face. The texture? Velvet; think shine without gloss, matt without stickiness.
